A Deeper Pause

If you have enjoyed finding the rest, the peace, and the vast stillness that is there at the bottom of each exhalation, perhaps you might like to find out what happens when you extend that pause to a full minute.

Or two. Or three.

It’s not that hard. With guided breathwork similar to the link below, you can easily and gently saturate your body with oxygen, and then exhale fully and just let go into deep presence within your body.

I’m a big fan of Wim Hof. This link is to the simplest and easiest of his breathwork sessions. Each round is only 30 breaths, and the holds are 60, 90 and 90 seconds. When I say holds, I don’t mean holding your breath like we normally think about it~ a chest full of air. That is much harder for a few reasons I won’t get into.

These are simply exhalations, after 30 full breaths, after which you simply don’t inhale. You will be amazed, if you follow the guidance, how easy it is to not breathe for a minute. Were you to do longer rounds of these types of breaths, with just a little practice you could stop breathing for 3 minutes or longer. I’ve done it. All sorts of interesting energetic and mental things happen at times when you practice this.

So, why? Why bother doing this? Well, beyond the deep peace you will feel if you let go into it, saturating the body with oxygen alkalizes it. It ups the pH balance. And all inflammation, autoimmune responses, and cancer cells- they thrive in an acidic body.

Anyway… give it a go before bed, or first thing in the morning. When it’s been a while since you ate. You just might get hooked! 🙂

Ready to Fly

0D076A61-8721-49E6-936A-6493E1CB5ABC

It has taken many years
To accept certain possibilities.
My body healing, for one.

It always seemed so effort filled
And I was too tired for that.
Surrender always felt sweeter.

The truth is
There is an energy required
That I can’t produce.

The grace is
I don’t need to.
It is already waiting.

It has been, patiently
Waiting for enough of me
To be held in the stillness.

Now I feel it
Flowing gently in the moment
As possibility I can choose.

With it comes a new identity
Long resisted gifts
And sense of purpose.

Purpose and freedom
Peace and a bit of passion
Joy enfolds any outcome.

In perfect timing
I stand ready
To fly.

The Seeker’s Rest

2FB22A24-2A32-4A83-B4E2-F54AC1E2DA0B

“What am I seeking?” doesn’t seem as important as why I am seeking at all.

Why am I seeking, inwardly and outwardly? Why am I looking beyond what is, and who I am in this Now?

I was afraid of failing. Of not getting this right. This being, well…life, I guess. My soul’s purpose. Where does that fear come from?

Stopping to look at it has always given me a break from being it.

That fear comes from judgment. Which, whenever I’ve come to a complete stop, I see is just that: a learned and stored idea. It doesn’t exist in the pure present Moment. It doesn’t exist anywhere else in Nature. It doesn’t exist outside the human mind.

And it is only real if I make it so.

Mmm. Shame…judgement. I think of the story of Adam and Eve. Some deep truth there. Playing like children, enjoying existence in a beautiful place, with no disconnect from each other, from their own inner freedom. From the Divinity they knew.

Then what? The idea of “right and wrong”, of good and evil was introduced. Or created. Or evolved. Ah, the human frontal lobe. That which sets us apart. The blessing and the curse.

Is it not the same with us as children? We are Adam or Eve, playing in innocence until we are taught otherwise from those outside the Garden. The idea of judgement is shared with us, and we accept it. And begin striving and seeking so as not to fail.

In this fear we take from one another that which isn’t offered. We fight with each other. We fight for whatever assuages our fears. We even fight to force our perceived solutions onto others, so we can feel even more worthy of this, our illusion of safety. Anything that isn’t always present is an illusion of our making.

Illusions get heavy. They require a lot of energy to maintain.

Enlightenment, salvation, happiness… if you have to earn them, or seek them at all, they too become heavy illusions.

In the complete absence of judgment we aren’t seeking anything, or protecting what we have. We wouldn’t be separated from each other, and from ourselves as playful children.

Without judgment we wouldn’t be trying to control each other’s behaviors. And without the fear that births all of this, would there even be unkind behavior to control?

In stopping long enough, in dropping deeply enough into pure presence, I set myself free once again. The joy of this has me squealing like a child who knows the delight of Life. Of simply being alive, here and Now.

The most helpful things I’ve learned

Wow, look at that thumbnail capture!  I look at bit excited 🙂 The moment felt electric…

This was last night. After a walk this morning, and hearing the song “I’m Alive” by Sam Garrett as I sat down to publish this, I guess I would add just one more thing to this video, which is 12 min, btw.

Just be present. Be here Now. Notice when you aren’t, and keep coming home.

“I’m alive, I’m alive, and I’m walking on fire, listen to your heart beat, and see what you find.”

Peace in the Pause

It has been a blessing of late to help others find that what they have been looking for has always been there. And always will be.

This is a short guided meditation. I made 3 consecutive videos this morning, these being the first two. The third should be along shortly. It is hopefully a very helpful look at the different energies that birth our desire for physical intimacy.

I split these meditations up. If you have the time and privacy to go from one to the next, wonderful.

May you find peace and perhaps healing in what holds us all…in every breath.
