Stood alone on a mountain top
Starin’ out at the Great Divide
I could go east, I could go west
It was all up to me to decide
Just then I saw a young hawk flyin’
And my soul began to rise
And pretty soon
My heart was singin’ ~Bob Seger
There has been a lot of Seger lately. And Van Morrison. And others from the 70’s whose soul stirring lyrics echo the awakening of the 60’s. Beliefs and social norms had crumbled for many young people, and in much of their music is the achingly beautiful voice of a heart open to the present moment. To Life, without the rules.
Your heart, your inner awareness, is free. And it is those feelings of freedom, of your soul rising in the beauty of a free and fearless moment, that you will remember when this human life is ending. Feel for a moment…how much time do we spend on that which will not matter in the end?
Like many others, Roll Me Away is an anthem of freedom. May you find your heart’s joy today, and see through the illusion of fear that can so easily preoccupy our energy and attention.
If you have 10 more minutes to listen to me talk a bit more about this, great. If not, below this video is a link to the aforementioned song. May your soul rise with it.
